Date Nut Bars
3 Eggs
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 tspn. Vanilla
1 Cup Flour
1 tspn. Baking Powder
1 lb. pitted dates, quartered
1 qt. pecan halves (1 lb. of pecans)
(1 lb. of shelled pecans= 2 lbs. of pecans in shell)
Mix eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Dredge dates in additional flour and add pecans. Place mixture in a well greased and floured 13" x 9" pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cool and cut into bars.
